Outdated Technique?
19. dubna 2005 11:45
The look of dancing has changed much over the years, but have the underlying fundamentals? Do you think there are parts of the traditional technique manuals which are now outdated? Or are they still applicable, if perhaps not always applied?

Interesting question---Yes -- there are tech.which are in question-- hence The Revised Tech. which is updated as deemed neccess.-- However-- as Scrivener would say---many tech. change according to circumstance-- a controversial approach which holds many truths For a more detailed analysis-- read his book-- "Just one Idea "

If you are such a Nerd, then tell me, have you ever read the technique books? If not try it, and do the step as you read. You will see that it makes perfect sense. Of course, if dancing was always done exactly by the book there're would be no style. But if there weren't techniqie books, and teachers wouldn't teach technique, then everyone's foot work would be absolutely awful. I'm sure you've seen examples of it around in small competetions.
